The FN Five-seveN Fitment Question
The FN Five-seveN is its own animal. Chambered in 5.7×28mm, the gun runs a polymer frame, a 4.8" barrel, and a 20-round magazine — making it longer than a typical 9mm duty pistol but with mags that hold more rounds in less width. That combination changes the bag-fitment math: the gun itself is full-size, but a full Five-seveN loadout (gun plus four 20-round mags) takes up about the same volume as a duty pistol loadout in 9mm.
Padded pistol-bag inserts sized for a Glock 17 or Sig P320 fit the Five-seveN well — the polymer frame and slim slide ride comfortably without the grip riding tight against the insert walls. Our Concord and Pistol Bag handle the Five-seveN with room for the gun, mags, and a spare optic battery.
Five-seveN With a Red Dot
The optics-ready Five-seveN models accept a slide-mounted red dot via the FN MRD plate system. Holosun 507C, Trijicon RMR with the right plate, and SRO-pattern dots are common picks. With a dot mounted, our pistol bag inserts clear the optic without pressure against the bag lid.
5.7×28mm Magazine Storage
FN's 20-round magazines for the Five-seveN are wider than 9mm doublestacks but slightly shorter than a 17-round Glock mag. They sit upright in our pistol-bag mag pockets with room to spare, and four mags account for 80 rounds — a solid range-day loadout.
