The Clean-Running DI AR
Yes—this is a direct impingement gun.
And it’s a reminder that DI, when done right, still sets the standard.
Every time you clean your LWRC M6IC, you’re reminded why it costs more. While budget DI rifles show uneven wear, gas inefficiencies, and carbon where it doesn’t belong, the M6IC breaks down clean and consistent.
LWRC refined the traditional DI system rather than reinventing it—proper gas porting, quality materials, and tight tolerances where it matters.
They didn’t build the M6IC for casual shooters. They built it for people who run their rifles.
Why DI Still Matters
Direct impingement offers lighter weight, better balance, and fewer moving parts than piston systems. When tuned correctly, it’s reliable, accurate, and easy to support with standard parts.
If your rifle sees training classes, high round counts, or suppressed use with proper tuning, a quality DI gun like the M6IC makes sense.
