The Staccato 2011 Grip Question
Staccato's 2011 platform is what happens when 1911 design DNA meets a modern double-stack frame. The grip is wider than a standard 1911 and noticeably wider than a striker-fired duty pistol — that matters in a padded insert, because a slot sized for a Glock 19 or Sig P320 will grip a Staccato grip frame more snugly than the gun was made for. The C2, P, and XC all share the family's wide grip; the gun rides higher in a pistol-class bag than a comparable duty pistol would.
The other Staccato consideration is barrel length. The C2 is the compact (3.9" barrel), the P sits in the middle (4.4"), and the XC is the longer competition build (5"). The C2, P, and XC all fit our pistol-class bags, but if you're packing an XC with a comp installed, double-check the slot length on shorter pistol cases — you may want to size up to a bag with longer pistol bays like the Concord.
Staccato With a Red Dot
The Staccato C2, P, and XC are all available in optics-cut configurations — DPP, RMR, SRO, the usual suspects. Our pistol bag inserts are sized to clear a slide-mounted optic without compressing it against the bag lid, so an optic-equipped Staccato lands the same way a duty pistol with an optic does.
Competition Mag Storage
Staccato's 2011 mags run tall — 17- to 26-round capacities in 9mm depending on the build, with 140mm and 170mm IPSC-legal lengths for the XC. Tall mags want a bag with deep magazine pockets; Concord and our larger pistol bags handle 140mm mags upright without crushing the basepads.
