Lynx Defense is adding a second size to its popular backpack insert. The Policy XL is the Policy PDW carrier with 4.5 inches of added height, built for the AR pistols, short-barreled ARs, AR folders, and longer personal defense weapons that the original was never sized to hold.

The Policy XL is built from 1000D Cordura nylon with reinforced foam padding and metal hardware. Like every Lynx Defense bag, it is designed and hand-sewn in Selma, North Carolina.

Same Policy, Taller

The Policy turns an ordinary backpack into a concealed carry bag. It gives the firearm its own padded compartment, keeps it separated from everything else in the pack, and lets the owner reach it quickly. Since its redesign as the Policy 2.0 it has become the insert concealed carriers reach for when they carry a PDW in a daypack.

The XL keeps that design and that footprint. It measures 18.5" tall by 12" wide by 3.5" deep, against 14" tall for the Standard. Width and depth are unchanged, so the XL rides in a larger pack the same way the Standard rides in a daypack, and every Policy attachment fits both.

Built for Short ARs and AR Folders

The most common request from Policy owners was a version that would take a short AR. The Standard is sized for sub guns and compact PDWs such as the SIG MPX, CZ Scorpion, MP5, B&T APC, Stribog, and Kuna. Short AR platforms need the extra length, and so do longer PDWs that owners carry in a full-size pack.

Which One Do You Need?

  • Policy Standard (14" x 12" x 3.5", $74.99): SIG MPX, CZ Scorpion, MP5 and AP5, B&T APC, Stribog, Kuna, Flux Defense, and other compact PDWs.
  • Policy XL (18.5" x 12" x 3.5", $84.99): AR pistols, short-barreled ARs, AR folders, and longer PDWs carried in a larger pack.

The Policy product page now asks what you carry. Choose your firearm and it selects the right size, then recommends the matching magazine holder and attachments.
