We do not provide your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

C. We share information with service providers (only as needed)

We may share information with vetted service providers that help us operate the Services and run our business, including:

  1. Payment processing: Stripe
  2. Email delivery: Amazon SES
  3. Site performance and security: Cloudflare
  4. Shipping / fulfillment partners: carriers and logistics providers as needed to deliver orders
  5. Hosting and infrastructure providers: vendors that host or store data for the Services
  6. Customer support tools: if used to manage support requests

These providers are permitted to use personal information only to perform services on our behalf and are required to protect it.

D. Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to:

  1. Comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests
  2. Enforce our terms, policies, or agreements
  3. Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues
  4. Protect the rights, property, and safety of Lynx Defense, our customers, or the public

4) Firearm-Related Data

We respect customer privacy, especially in a sensitive industry.

We do not collect or store firearm serial numbers, nor do we maintain firearm ownership records beyond what is required to complete a transaction.

See Section 5 for additional information about firearm data in the Lynx Defense Range App, including how serial numbers are handled.

5) Lynx Defense Range App

The Lynx Defense Range App ("Range App") is a mobile application that helps you track firearms, ammunition, gear, maintenance, and range trips. This section describes privacy practices specific to the Range App.

A. Information collected by the Range App

When you use the Range App, we collect:

Account information

  1. Email address
  2. Name (or display name)
  3. User ID

If you sign in using Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID, email address (or a private relay email if you choose to hide your email), and name as provided by Apple.

Inventory and activity data

  1. Firearms (make, model, caliber, purchase date, notes, round count)
  2. Ammunition inventory (brand, caliber, quantity)
  3. Gear and accessories (name, category, notes)
  4. Range trip logs (date, location, firearms used, rounds fired, notes)
  5. Maintenance records (service type, date, notes)
  6. Checklists you create

Target grading (optional feature)

  1. Photos of shooting targets captured via camera or selected from your photo library
  2. Target scores and hit analysis

B. Information stored only on your device

Serial numbers are never uploaded to our servers. Firearm and gear serial numbers entered in the Range App are stored exclusively on your device and are not transmitted during sync or backup. This data remains entirely under your control.

C. How Range App data is used

We use Range App data to:

  1. Sync your inventory and activity across devices
  2. Provide target grading and scoring analysis
  3. Display your order history from the Lynx Defense store (read-only)
  4. Improve app functionality and fix issues

D. Camera and photo library access

The Range App may request access to your device camera or photo library to:

  1. Photograph shooting targets for the target grading feature
  2. Attach photos to firearm records

Target photos submitted for grading are transmitted to our servers for processing. You control when and whether to use this feature.

E. Data sync and storage

Range App data (excluding serial numbers) is synced to our servers to enable:

  1. Backup and recovery
  2. Access across multiple devices
  3. Continuity if you change devices

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on secure servers.

F. In-App Purchases

The Range App offers optional premium features via in-app purchase. Purchase transactions are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your purchase but do not receive your payment details.

G. Deleting your Range App data

You can permanently delete all Range App data directly within the app:

  1. Open the Range App
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm deletion

This removes all your Range App data from our servers, including firearms, ammunition, gear, range trips, maintenance records, checklists, and target scores. It also signs you out of all devices.

What is preserved: Deleting your Range App account does not delete your Lynx Defense store account, order history, or other e-commerce data. To delete your store account entirely, contact us using the information in Section 14.

What is not recoverable: Serial numbers and any data stored only on your device are not backed up to our servers and cannot be recovered after deletion or device loss.

6) Cookies, Similar Technologies, and Analytics

A. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies (for example, local storage) to:

  1. Keep the site functioning correctly
  2. Remember preferences (where available)
  3. Maintain security
  4. Support basic performance measurement and debugging

Some cookies are necessary for the Services to function properly. If you choose to disable cookies in your browser, portions of the Services may not work correctly.

B. First-party analytics

We currently use first-party analytics (analytics we run ourselves) rather than third-party analytics platforms. These analytics help us understand site usage and improve performance.

C. Future marketing pixels / targeted advertising

We may choose to add advertising pixels or targeted advertising tools in the future. If we do, we will:

  1. Update this Policy to reflect the new practices, and
  2. Implement an appropriate notice and consent mechanism where required by applicable law.

(As of the effective date listed above, we do not use third-party ad pixels for cross-site targeted advertising.)

7) Email and Marketing Communications

A. Transactional emails

We may send emails related to your orders and account activity (for example, order confirmations, shipping updates, and support responses). These are not marketing emails.

B. Marketing emails

If you receive promotional emails from us, you can opt out at any time by:

  1. Clicking the unsubscribe link in the email, or
  2. Contacting us using the information in Section 11

C. Email engagement data

To help us improve email delivery and communication quality, we may receive information about email delivery events (for example, whether an email was delivered or bounced). We do not currently use third-party tracking for targeted advertising.

D. SMS/Text Message Communications

Our SMS text messaging program is restricted to subscribers who are 18 years of age or older. If you opt in, you may receive promotional text messages, back-in-stock alerts, and transactional messages (such as order confirmations and shipping updates) at the phone number you provide. You can opt out at any time by:

  1. Replying STOP to any text message from us
  2. Updating your SMS preferences in your account settings
  3. Contacting us at [email protected] or (919) 701-9411

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. For full SMS program details, see our SMS Terms & Conditions.

SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with or sold to any third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

When you opt in to our SMS program, we record the date and time of your opt-in, the page URL where consent was provided, and the timestamp of your age confirmation (18+). This information is retained as evidence of consent and age verification for the duration of your subscription.

8) Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  1. Provide the Services
  2. Maintain business records
  3. Meet legal, tax, accounting, and compliance obligations
  4. Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
  5. Maintain security and prevent fraud

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason we collected it.

9) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Examples include:

  1. Encryption in transit (such as TLS/SSL) where applicable
  2. Security and performance services (such as Cloudflare) to help protect the Services

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10) Your Privacy Rights and Requests

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable laws (which may include rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain processing in specific circumstances).

  4. Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, warranty, recordkeeping)
  5. Exercise or defend legal claims
  6. Use information internally in a lawful manner consistent with the context in which it was provided

E. Non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

11) Children’s Privacy
